December is very busy month for me and my family. Besides Christmas and new year, my wife and both my daughters have their birthdays in this month. It takes time and energy to make them happy 🥳 and make parties and so on. So my training schedule suffered from it, of course. Also, december was second month I was taking statins. So it was one of the hardest month for me in terms of motivation and workout consistency.
So my final result for december, and also, for all this year is 13 pull ups.
First upper body training was only at 10.december. It was late, because I was too busy with family things.
I decided to do start with weighted pull ups, and I felt quite good during that training.
I did 38 pull ups in total:
- 6 pull ups, +13kg
- 6 pull ups, +13kg
- 5 chin ups, +13kg
- 5 pull ups, +13kg
- 9 pull ups, bodyweight
- 7 pull ups, bodyweight
With dips was bad, because I started to do them but after 3 reps stopped, because of pain in chest. It was not like I stretched muscle or something like that. It felt like pain is in joints where my ribs are attached to sternum. I feel it even when sleeping or doing some movements where my chest muscles are completely free without any tension or contraction. It looks like it is something similar to costochondritis. I was searching on internet something similar and found out this strange word :). So I decided to stop with dips and do only various pushup modifications for now.
Next training was a week later, in 17.december, and I did only 29 pull ups in total, because I felt too tired to do more that day:
- 9 pull ups, bodyweight
- 5 pull ups, +13kg
- 5 pull ups, +13kg
- 10 pull ups, bodyweight
Did not do any dips, only various push ups.
Third pull ups training was on 22.december and I did 34 pull ups:
- 6 pull ups, +13kg
- 6 chin ups, +13kg
- 5 pull ups, +13kg
- 5 pull ups, +13kg
- 4 pull ups, +13kg
- 8 pull ups, bodyweight
This was first time, trained only inroom, because it was to cold out there. And too many snow.
Fourth and last training this year I did on 30.december. I tested my max pull ups in first set and did 35 pull ups in total:
- 13 pull ups, bodyweight
- 5 pull ups, +13kg
- 5 chin ups, +13kg
- 4 pull ups, +13kg
- 8 pull ups, bodyweight
I felt relatively good, and might have done one more set but I have no more time that day.
Unfortunately, it is two month stagnation, if compared to my best month, when I reached 14 pull ups. Despite I was training as previously, results was not gratifying. But on other hand, I know it was because of statins, and not because I was lazy or something like that.
