Month started as usual, but there was one fantastic event and one disappointment. They both will make big impact on my training routine, especialy during next few months.
So I did usual training session on 1. of April. Did few sets of weighted pullups, and in total I did 43 pull ups that day.
- 9 pull ups, bodyweight
- 4 pull ups, +19kg
- 4 chin ups, +19kg
- 3 pull ups, +19kg
- 3 chin ups, +19kg
- 5 pull ups, L-sit
- 4 pull ups, L-sit
- 5 pull ups, bodyweight wide grip
- 6 pull ups, bodyweight
And then comes interesting part. Couple of weeks ago I discovered some bulge in the lower part of stomach, on the left side, near the hip joint. I was watching it, and it looks like there is some problem here. I went to the doctor and doctor told me it is hernia. Inguinal hernia. It needs to be repaired, without doubt, and I can’t put big load to abdominal muscles anymore. More about it and how to train further I wrote in another article here.
While I have only schedulled my visit to surgeon, I decided to do only bodyweight pull ups, and not hang any weights on me. And I am not making reps to failure. And no more L-sit pull ups, obviously.
First workout, with light load plan was on 8. of April. I did 40 reps in total.
- 5 pull ups
- 6 pull ups, wide grip
- 5 chin ups
- 5 pull ups, wide grip
- 7 pull ups, wide grip
- 6 pull ups, wide grip
- 6 pull ups, wide grip
Next light style workout was on 15 of April. I did 38 reps in total.
- 8 pull ups
- 8 pull ups, wide grip
- 7 pull ups, wide grip
- 6 pull ups, wide grip
- 5 pull ups
- 4 chin ups
And then comes THAT day. On 19. of April, my family get bigger, as my son was born! 🥳 Now, my two wonderful daughters has little brother too. So I have a lot of new concerns, and it looks like I will not be able to dedicate so much time for my trainings, at least for first months. But anyway, I will try to find a time for training.
And last one was on 21 of April.
- 8 pull ups, wide grip
- 8 pull ups, wide grip
- 8 pull ups, wide grip
- 8 pull ups, wide grip
- 6 pull ups
- 5 pull ups
- 5 pull ups
Besides my new concerns about my newborn son, I am little bit worried due to my hernia, and that’s why I am slowing down with workouts and load. I have to avoid any health problems or injuries. And I am not testing my max pull ups anymore, while my hernia is not repaired and I am completely recovered after surgery.
